What is IPL?

IPL is an acronym for Intense Pulsed Light, sometimes referred to as the Photofacial. This device uses light to diminish surface irregularities, like discoloration, by targeting the areas of concern, initiating collagen production and skin cell renewal to rejuvenate the skin.

How can you benefit from this treatment?

IPL can effectively diminish dark spots, treat uneven skin tone and background redness, and can sometimes be a solution for rosacea. By default, IPL also increases skin elasticity, shrinks pores and oil production.

What does IPL TREAT?

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Sun Damage
  • Background Redness
  • Rosacea
  • Dark Spots
  • Age Spots

What can I expect during and after the treatment?

During your treatment the medical esthetician will apply protective glasses to eyes and a ultra sound gel to area of skin. The treatment feels like rubber bands snapping on the skin. Our device is features a variety of components to minimize discomfort during the treatment while also expediting results.

After the treatment, you can expect to look slightly red, and area treated may feel warm for the first 24 hours post treatment. Depending on the concern you are treating, spots will appear darker for 3-7 days but generally begin to clear over time, and with each treatment. It takes an average of 3-5 treatments to clear spots.

What else should do I need to know about the IPL?

While you are undergoing IPL, you should refrain from any exposure to sun as this can affect the results. Remember, everyone responds differently to treatments and results vary for each patient.
